The game is officially OPEN! Feel free to make your own posts in the community and get the ball rolling. To commemorate the game's opening, we've set up this intro mingle post to help you guys get settled in. NPCs might even pop in from time to time to guide your characters along or make their school life harder. Even so, we hope you have fun and enjoy!

Please don't forget to add the date when the thread is taking place (e.g. "5th day of the 1st term", "term 1, day 5") in the subject line! December 1 is the 1st day of the 1st term, December 2 is the 2nd... you get the idea.

Neither had I up until that moment.

[Roy sighs, then forces himself to relax a little.]

Sorry, I'm a bit on edge. It's not every day you find out you've been forced to take a level in sorcerer.

... I could agree with that. It's alright. [ At least she can get over the awkwardness rather easily. ]

I figured we could acquaint with each other at least. My name is Sayaka. [ She bows with a constructed smile, one of those she learned to show even though she's not really happy about this situation either. ]

Roy Greenhilt. [He starts to offer a hand, but that bow holds him up. He'd spent enough time amongst the Azurites to pick up a few things, though, so he returns the bow. Easy to tell the gesture isn't natural to him, but he's giving it a good shot.]

It's nice to meet you, Roy.

[ It's a foreigner's name... then again, he doesn't look that much japanese either. Nope. Therefore, she won't use honorifics just yet. In her experience with showbiz, she learned that western people look a little put out by that kind of regard. ]

I have no idea what we are supposed to do here, but it's best if we get accustomed to this place, isn't that right?

[greatcleavage]

[Her name sounds Azurite to him, even if she doesn't quite have the look of one. Fairly close, though, so he'll let it slide; it makes sense that other people from other places would have other cultures.]

[At her suggestion, though, he frowns slightly.]

It's a school. I would be surprised if certain things aren't universal, myself. Such as the natural proclivity of underwear towards flagpoles.

I know it's a school, but still...

[ How to explain this... she doesn't like the idea of being thrown in yet another school where it's uncertain what they're asking of them. She already got into a special school, and things somehow went to hell from there, so having no certainties is making her extra wary of this place. ]

I don't know, I just don't feel much safe here.

[greatcleavage]

[That sentiment is enough to make him take notice. Roy leaves off his uncertainty and irritation entirely, turning to give her his full attention.]

I'm listening.

I mean, I've been in a school before and it didn't go... that much well. Rather, it went rather horribly, but that's a long story.

[ Not sure if she should confide in a stranger like this. ]

Are we talking 'total social ostracism' horribly, or are we talking 'it turned out the school was home to a den of Necronomicon-level evil' horribly?

Because if it's the latter, I'm not surprised. And if it's the former, woefully familiar.

I don't think it was ostracism, per se... er, and I don't understand the latter option, to be honest.

I'm just trying to understand the level of intervention we might need. Let's put it another way -- where on the scale of 'catastrophe size' does your worry fall, if one end is 'you personally' and the other is 'all existence everywhere'?

[idolizer]

Oh... that makes more sense. [ s...ort of. ]

I guess I could say my worries lie more on the suspicion that we're all being brought here as a means of an experiment.

[greatcleavage]

Gather up a variety of different people from different world and see how they handle magic, huh?

It would provide an explanation for why we were literally forced to enroll. Besides 'it's a railroad'.

That would explain it. I just hope it's nothing serious, but having gone through something similar... I can't trust whoever kidnapped us.

[greatcleavage]

Considering I just got out of gladiatorial enslavement, I'm not exactly feeling charitable either. If I thought there were a way to mount an effective resistance...

[idolizer]

Er... I think it's too soon to plan anything like that, especially when we don't know who we're dealing with. I think it's best to wait and see.

[greatcleavage]

[Roy sighs. He can't help but acknowledge that just maybe he's letting recent events guide his thought processes a little more than is wise.]

Yeah, you're probably right. This is just a theme that's getting old. We definitely need more information.

[idolizer]

That's what I'm planning to do, anyway, and I'm going to explore this place a little, maybe ask around for some information. [ Being the assistant of some improvised, unfortunate detective was a short-lived experience, but she has to admit it could be a little fun. ]

[greatcleavage]

I'd be lying if I said I stacked ranks in social skills, but I'm as familiar with looking up information in the library as any --

[Roy abruptly remembers just how familiar his fellow students had been with the library back in fighter college.]

I'm familiar with a library. Very. Painfully probably. So if there's information to be had there I intend to find it.

[idolizer]

There must be a library around here, is there? [ If there wasn't one, then this isn't a school and they're not wizards. ]

Do you perhaps know where it is?

[greatcleavage]

[Roy nods, in complete agreement with her for exactly the same reasons.]

I've been just as much a prisoner to this schedule as you have, but as soon as I get a chance to look...

[idolizer]

Hmmm... should we look for it together? I might do that just now.

[greatcleavage]

Well, this IS supposed to be a time when we get acquainted with the places we'll be eating, sleeping, and living for our time here... so I agree, this is the perfect time to find the library.

[idolizer]

Right, right! Let's go then. [ She motions with her hand. ] Off to the adventure, I guess!

[greatcleavage]

What? Oh, wow. [Roy grins with fond nostalgia.] I think my first adventure might actually have been getting to the library at my old school. At least I'm pretty sure I got experience for managing it.

That crowd of upperclassmen was not an appropriately-balanced challenge for a solo character of my level.
