To commemorate the game's opening, we've set up this intro mingle post to help you guys get settled in. NPCs might even pop in from time to time to guide your characters along or make their school life harder. Even so, we hope you have fun and enjoy!

After a long day of class, it is time to take a break for lunch. Where you sit in the dining hall is crucial because everyone is here. You have your sixth kodor weaklings, magician nerds, cool magicians, unfriendly magician hotties, magicians who eat their feelings...

[Roy has made a classic mistake.]

[He has taken a seat in the corner, with a book he'd gotten from who knows where, and is scowling at it with an expression that promises a cold response to anyone who dares disturb him.]

[Why is this a mistake? Well, he's a secretive and antisocial figure in a corner. By definition, he must have a plot hook or some interesting task or information!]

[For whatever reason, Hama feels a little uncomfortable sitting to eat with all these young kids. So when she spots someone closer to her own age, that naturally seems like a better place for now. She approaches Roy's table, her meal in hand.]

Pardon me. May I sit here?

[Roy looks up, quickly appraises her, and just as quickly decides that this woman certainly doesn't look the type to mock, harass, bully, or intimidate him for the unforgivable social crime of reading while at school. His expression quickly relaxes from its former coldness to a smile.]

Sure, by all means.

[His thoughts have gone the same route hers have, for that matter: it's nice to see someone who isn't under the age of eighteen around here.]

Thank you. [She bows slightly and sits, relieved. At least he seems to be one of those people who's friendlier than they look. Once situated a little better, she adds:] My name is Hama.

[Bad circumstances are what make him look so hostile. He's certainly relaxed a great deal.]

Hama sounds... vaguely Azurite.

[Duly noted. Other than that, she doesn't find anything unusual about his name.]

I'm afraid it isn't. I've never been to, em... [whoops, she just thought of a couple of city names that "Azurite" could extrapolate to, but doesn't want to get it wrong.] ... That is, I've never met an Azurite.

Oh, I have no doubt you haven't been there. I have yet to see a single person that I'd even guess was from my world. As near as I can tell I got dropped her alone, and I'm guessing that's true for a lot of people.

[As Hajime walks through the lunch room, he suddenly feels... very short. So many people that just tower over him. But he has to sit somewhere]

Is it okay if I sit here?

[Ukraine is sitting at a table by herself when she hears a small voice and looks over.]

[He sets his food down]

...Oh, I'm Ukraine. Sorry I should have introduced myself first.

[ Merida shifts her glance from her plate to the stranger. ]

Aye, of course it is. Why should it be otherwise?

Thank you. I don't really... know anyone here.

[He sets his plate down]

I'd say that now's as good a time as any to change that, then, wouldn't you? I'm Merida, firstborn of Clan DunBroch. And you are…?

Hajime. Just Hajime. It's good to meet you.

[He gives a slight bow]

[ Hajime? A few seconds of silence elapse before Merida realizes that she ought to actually say something rather than gape at the boy for a name that she deemed to be, well, odd.

She gives a swift - albeit clumsy - curtsy. ]

Erm, right! Hajime, is it? It's good to meet you, too.

So does anyone here actually seem to know each other?

Yeah, Hajime. It's written with the kanji for "beginning".

[It doesn't occur to him that that might not be the point of confusion]

I think some of the grownups know each other. Maybe...

[ she gives him a blank look. ]

Sorry. I wouldn't know what a kanji looks like.

[ despite her love of adventure, she has yet to travel that far from her kingdom, though she would most certainly like to someday. she also probably somehow managed to mangle the pronunciation of the word "kanji" along the way. ]

Well, there you go, then. You should be able to sit almost anywhere you want without intruding.

[ After wearing herself out with practice, she truly needed a break. Her stomach is not much ready to welcome food, since the memory of having a knife stuck in her is still vivid in her despite everything that happened today, but she needs the energies either way. She may be dead, but as she found out, she's still very much alive and breathing, if not a little physically weaker than normal.

Despite being the social type, having been obliged to be one because of her past career, she decided to sit alone at a table, eyes wandering to watch the people in the dining hall. However, she won't refuse anyone who would like to take her company. She'll welcome them with a polite smile. ]
