It's time to look at your schedule. Lucky you! You have body strengthening maref. Wow, what does that mean? You will quickly find out it is like an extreme physical education class. When will you learn magic? Fool! With a body as weak as yours, you should not even waste your time thinking about that!

[Body Strengthening? Like, as if. He was already totally super strong! These people obviously had no idea what they were talking about.

Sure, the fire ball he managed at that Kodor Exam thing came out a little lame, but so was everyone else's. He was more of 'works better under pressure type' anyways.

Besides getting sweaty was gross.]

So like, if we already don't suck at this can we take something else?

6th day of 1st term

[Latvia stumbled to a halt, doubled over and wheezing. It had been a few days since he arrived and his arm had been properly dressed. He didn't know what to expect from this school, so everything was a surprise.

That included the people he met]

Mr. Poland? I wasn't expecting to see you here.

Do you really think we can drop this class?

Latvia, you're here too? Wow, this place will totally take anyone. [Poland flaps his wrist before adding] No offense.

I don't see why I have to take it. I mean you're wheezing and totally out of shape so it makes sense, but I'm like you know. Me.

[balzams]

None taken.

[That was definitely a slight sneer in his voice but to the average person it probably would have gone undetected]

But what do you mean by 'you're you'? I didn't think you were the type to exercise a lot.

[Latvia's sneer does go entirely unnoticed by Poland.]

I'm not. If you're already strong then you totally don't have to exercise!

[Makes perfect sense, right?]

But with any skill, if you don't practice then it starts to decrease.

Even if you thought you were strong before it might be different now. When was the last time you checked?

Yeah yeah yeah... [Gosh Latvia you've been hanging around Lithuania's nagging for too long.]

But you know, I'm not the one all doubled over gasping for air. [Namely because he's opted to spend class up til this moment filing his nails.]

That's because you haven't tried yet.

[He was quick to point it out as he finally stood a little straighter but unlike before it doesn't sound like a snide comment in the slightest. It's just a general fact]

That's like, soooo not the point.

[Poland laughs, seeming genuinely amused.] What are you talking about anyways, you're like the weakest person I know!

[He really did take offence to that comment. It had taken him a long time and a lot of convincing from other people for him to stop thinking of himself as weak and Poland should understand that better than most people]

At least I'm actually making the effort.

Yeah, but when I put in effort I actually like, accomplish stuff.

[it's still scary and confusing, all of- this. honestly, Tsugumi's still entertaining the idea that this is some sort of weird afterlife, but that just makes it even more scary, somehow. but if she really were dead, isn't Lord Death supposed to be here somewhere...?]

Um... I- I don't know... sorry. [so jealous...! she's completely out of breath and drenched in sweat. such a wimp, wehhh.]

A-ah-- [Startled that someone actually replied, Poland shyly draws himself backwards. He hadn't expected someone to answer and especially not a stranger. Nothing unsettled Poland quite like meeting new people.]

[Looking at Tsugumi it doesn't seem like there's much to be unsettled by though, what with how sweaty and out of breath she was. Granted Poland only looked better by comparison because he hadn't bothered to start working out yet.]

[Poland replies much more quietly, inching away.] Um... t-that's okay...

[hellebarde]

[as long as she's stuck here, she figures she may as well try making new friends. but someone who seems even more shy than her...? no way. she offers a friendly smile, wiping off her damp forehead with the back of her hand.]

Ah... I'm Tsugumi! What's your name?

[Poland's name catches in his throat, coming out in an almost inaudible mumble.]

Poland.

[hellebarde]

... Eh? Poland? Like the country?

[notyetlost]

[Ahhhh, this girl was persistant! Somehow running laps didn't seem like such a terrible idea anymore if it meant he could get away from this awkward conversation.

Taking a breath and closing his eyes, Poland tries to get ahold of his anxiety. He could totally hold a conversation with her. He totally could! He just had to get in the right frame of mind. He was Poland after all! He could do it!]

Not like the country! I'm the country! [Poland throws his hands on his hips and puffs out his chest trying to appear as tall and important as he could.]

But like, don't address me so casually! Call me Lord Polska!

[hellebarde]

Ehhhh? [her jaw drops partly in disbelief, partly in awe, partly in... well, confusion.] You're a Lord and a country? I don't understand...

Well, not anymore. But the title makes it more obvious to like, common people that I'm super important.

[hellebarde]

But how are you a country...?

So, you're totally dying to know the story of how I was founded?

Mmm... Okay I'll tell you, but! With one condition.

[Koharu's breathless by now, stuttering to a stop beside him and glancing up as he speaks. She tries to keep out of everyone else's way, leaning against the wall. She feels like giving out here and now but she really shouldn't. She was never good at sports though.]

Oh...c-can we?

[Didn't people know that sneaking up beside other people was super rude?

Without so much as word to Koharu, Poland abruptly takes off on her and disappears behind the wall to hide.]

[...And Koharu blinked and carefully crept around the wall to find him. Hello there. Have a reassuring smile.] ...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.
