To commemorate the game's opening, we've set up this intro mingle post to help you guys get settled in. NPCs might even pop in from time to time to guide your characters along or make their school life harder. Even so, we hope you have fun and enjoy!

Please don't forget to add the date when the thread is taking place (e.g. "5th day of the 1st term", "term 1, day 5") in the subject line! December 1 is the 1st day of the 1st term, December 2 is the 2nd... you get the idea.

Ach! [ merida begins to rub her shoulder: the pain at least seems to be real even if the thought of her being a magician is too absurd to be believable. ] That's some strength you've got there, laddie.

That's because I'm a fighter. As in, the exact sort of person who doesn't belong here and has no interest in learning magic.

[It starts off irritated, but just ends depressed. Maintaining his righteous anger is difficult in the face of inescapability and someone else who doesn't want to be here.]

You're a wise one. I'm still wondering why I let myself be talked into this in the first place even though magic seems to have brought me naught but trouble so far.

You might have been wiser than I was. I put up a fairly strong resistance right up to the point I got shoved in an orb of force and told I wasn't getting out till I signed up. You at least escaped with your dignity intact. Right up until I poked you anyway.

And to think I'd assumed that enrolling in the Academy was only a suggestion for those of us with no other leads to follow! I wonder what it is this place wants from us that demands such lengths to make us stay put?

That's a very good question, but it begs another one -- is it the people here that are weird, the culture... or is there something really unusual about these involuntary levels of sorcerer we've all been forced to take?
